PROJECT 4: 'SELF-TITLED' (30%)
WEEK 11-14 PROJECT 4: 'SELF-TITLED' (30%)
Week 11 Research and References:
We need to use our own photos to make our own posters and make them into
videos. I chose these three posters for reference.
Write a biography about yourself:
Write a statement about your work:
SKETCH
Here's my sketch:
These are the photographs I used:
PRODUCTION PROCESS :
First, I selected the main subject of my photo and changed the background to a
solid color, blending the subject into the background sea water.
Design direction:
FINAL POSTER:
TITLE: Pursuing a Daydream
Artist Statement: This poster is made with my photos and things I
like. It has a dreamy feel. When people dream, they will imagine what
they like, so I put the things I like together and dreamily express
them. I hope everyone can pursue what they like.
Elements:
• Fish and water:
The huge blue fish in the background symbolizes the free emotions or the
spiritual world of fantasy. The elements of fish and water represent the
floating feeling of dreams.
• The water background is blurred and not realistic, which further
strengthens the theme of "dream".
• The pin holding the moon in the sky symbolizes the connection between
the two worlds of reality and imagination
• The CD and Walkman player with retro elements represent the past time.
The connection between the past and dreams reflects the sense of time,
suggesting the memories or inspiration sources in the dream.
Color and composition:
When making this poster, I used blue as the main color of the poster
because blue is my favorite color. Blue will give people a mysterious
and dreamy feeling, and blue is used to better shape the feeling of
dreams.
When composing, I compared the size ratio of the fish with the size
ratio of the characters.
VIDEO PRODUCTION:
I used the video example Mr. Fauzi provided me to give the fish the feeling of
swimming. I added anchor points to the fish's body and moved the anchor points
slightly.
