MINOR PROJECT - Final Compilation

INSTRUCTION

TASK PROGRESS

In the first week, Dr. Wong gave us a brief introduction to the project. We were then asked to form groups from different professional backgrounds and choose a topic from a provided list as our project theme.

We then formed our group of five members, and our chosen topic was Ibu Niaga, which aims to support Malaysian B40 female entrepreneurs.

Phase 1: Empathy

In Task 1, we researched the backgrounds of B40 female entrepreneurs, developed a problem statement, defined project objectives, and identified the target user group. Each team member also participated in user interviews.

Fig 2.2 Interview Questions

I interviewed a female entrepreneur who runs a home-based handmade snack business.

After each of us completed the interviews, we mapped the affinity of home-based women entrepreneurs and service-based women entrepreneurs.

Next, I completed the creation of the User Persona.

Phase 2: Define

Insights
After analysing all six interviews, we identified several common challenges faced by our target users. These insights helped us better understand their daily struggles and guided the development of our design solution, ensuring that our proposed features addressed their real business needs.

Problem statements
After getting the insights, we identified the user, need, and insight and came up with problem statements.

And made them into "How might we" statements.

The "How might we" statement we chose:
Home-Based Women Entrepreneurs:How might we help home-based women entrepreneurs better manage business tasks and family responsibilities without missing orders or losing customers?

Service-Based Entrepreneurs: How might we  design an integrated system that helps service-based entrepreneurs manage HR, finances, and operations more efficiently?

Mid-Project Progress: Update to client (WEEK 8)
This week, we briefed our client on the project's progress. This mid-term review gave us the opportunity to showcase the current results and solicit feedback on the completed design.

Phase 3: Ideation

Crazy 8 ideas
In class, we practiced drawing eight different crazy ideas to spark our creativity. My idea was to create an all-in-one app to help B40 women efficiently respond to customers and provide relevant marketing knowledge within the app.

Next, after discussions with my team, we decided to create an app to help B40 women.
I first conceived the relevant functions, and then I drew a sketch of the app.

Phase 4: Prototype

Sitemap
Next, we started developing the prototype. First, we created a sitemap to determine the features needed in our app.

I completed the user flow diagram.

After completing the Sitemap and User Flow, Jiang Jiayu and I began developing the prototype.

We first completed the creation of a low-fidelity prototype, which has four main functions: order management, customer communication, bookkeeping, and AI marketing.

Later, at Nour's suggestion, we added the smart calendar feature to help users balance family and work.

Next, Jia Yu and I continued to complete the high-fidelity prototype.

During classroom consultations, Dr. Wong provided us with many helpful suggestions, which we have been continuously updating.
