LECTURE

Lecture : Analysis of the Three-Act Structure - The Secret to Telling a Great Story
This lecture introduces us to the three-act structure.
The three-act structure is a framework for storytelling that helps shape the plot.
  • Story hook: Setting suspense at the beginning of the movie to attract the audience's interest and keep watching.
  • Inciting Event: Pushing the story into the main plot.
  • First Plot Point: The story enters the core conflict.
  • First Pinch Point: Emphasizes the power of the villain and the risks faced by the protagonist, increasing the tension of the movie.
  • Midpoint: The turning point in the middle of the story, the protagonist's view of the plot conflict will completely change.
  • Third Plot Point: Entering the final act, paving the way for the final climax.
  • Climax: The highest point of the story, the protagonist and the villain directly confront each other, determining the ending of the story and the fate of the characters.

Final Video:

We color corrected and graded the Lalin video according to the tutorial video provided by Mr. Martin. I first used the waveform to adjust the exposure, contrast, brightness, etc. of the video, and used the comparison view to ensure the uniformity of the video.

Then I created a new layer and graded it on the new layer, adjusting the hue, color and saturation.

BEHIND THE SCENES PHOTOS

We based the trailer on 7 clips we shot and included these 6 color grades in the trailer:
I used basic correction and color wheels in Adobe Premiere Pro to complete the color grading.

After I finished editing the trailer, I searched for suitable music on Pixabay to add the music.
Music links used:

In the process of completing the film's titles, for the opening titles I chose Text Dissolve: Use Rough Edges and add keyframes to the effect to complete the production.
Then I used keyframes to adjust the transparency to achieve the effect of flashing subtitles.

REFLECTIONS:

When I completed Task 2, I tried for the first time how to edit videos, how to color correct and color grade videos, which was a very interesting attempt. We also shot videos, how to choose shooting angles and how to place lights. When shooting videos, my job was to record, which was my first time trying this job, and it was very interesting. In the process of completing the shooting task, teamwork is very important, and we completed the shooting task happily.

When I finished making the trailer, it was a little difficult for me to make the trailer have a sense of rhythm. After learning and referring to many different trailers, I learned how to complete the production of the trailer. This task was very interesting and a very interesting attempt. I learned a lot of knowledge in the process of making it.
