LECTURES

The lecture introduced us to why we need to learn PS better.
  • Learn PS to express our creativity 
  • Create graphic designs 
  • Restore old photos 
  • Artistically combine graphics with text 
  • Use brushes There are thousands of brushes to choose from, each producing a unique effect 
  • Change the color of a photo You can convert a color photo into a black-and-white photo with the help of this image editing tool 
  • Correct errors in a photo With Photoshop tools, you can hide the weaknesses of a photo and enhance its beauty—correct errors in your photos. 
Next, it was explained to us what digital imaging is. Digital imaging uses a digital scanner or other imaging device to convert printed text, artwork, and photographs into digital images.

  • Tip 1: Follow a Tutorial
  • Tip 2: Experiment: The best way to learn anything new is to experience it. Photoshop has a lot of tools to try and you'll get different results every time.
  • Tip 3: Memorise all the keyboard shortcuts: There is a trick to learning shortcuts. Imagine a visualization that clearly understands what it is and how to use it. e.g. 
  • Tip 4: Try to copy someone else's work
  • Tip 5: Enter a design contest: It provides the opportunity to showcase someone's best work to create something specific that is being judged by others.

  • Tip 9: Use actions to personalize your work: One of the most efficient tools in Photoshop is the actions.

WEEK 1: PRACTICAL

Design #1:

1:Website Poster



Description: When I saw this poster, I was attracted to its dreamy colors. The poster exhibits a strong color contrast, with the planet's colors becoming more prominent under the black and white contrast, creating a cosmic and dreamy feeling.

This Poster expressed: The theme of this poster is to represent the subspace of the universe in the style of vapor waves.
In the poster, two close-up illustrations are used to show the details and embellishments of the planets in the illustration.
Including text in the poster emphasizes that the concept depicts cosmic subspac.
The poster has a white and black base with colorful accents to illustrate the mystery and fascination of space.

Design #2:

2:Website Poster


Description:This poster uses different words and different font sizes, which gives a strong visual impact and attracts me. The title is located in the middle of the poster, and the title is the impact of the words.

This Poster expressed: The idea of placing the title in the middle of the poster to clarify the concept of the poster. 
The contrast between the size and thickness of the different texts creates an impact between the different texts that perfectly echoes the title. 
The four big words of the title bulge out to focus the visual center.

Design #3:

3:Personal poster


Description: When I saw this poster, I was intrigued by the illustration. It has many elements surrounding the title in the illustration.

This Poster expressed: The illustration uses some elements of 90's compact discs and cassette tapes and the neon blue in the background to give the whole poster a great color and visual impact. 
The two-layer frame structure gives the poster a great sense of hierarchy. 
The theme of this poster is named after noise, and the illustration contains some tips about cassette tapes and computer malfunctions to represent noise.


FEEDBACK

The lecturer gave us a brief overview of what was covered in the course and explained how to go about setting up our blogs and e-portfolios showed us how to create our own Pinterest board name as a DPL and then asked us to choose 3 graphic designs that we liked and explained why we wanted them. The lecturer then gave us a brief introduction to the next lesson and the tools we would need showed us videos from previous years to introduce the collages we would be learning about in the next lesson and recommended Instagram accounts for us to know about.
